COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Diamond Bar Pony Families,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate this current climate. As we approach our initial delayed start of April 6th, we wanted to give you an update.

In conjunction with federal and state recommendations, the Board of Directors has decided to suspend all baseball activity through at least April 30th. Our main priority and concern is the health and safety of all the players and families in our league as well as our surrounding communities. As we assess our options for the remainder of the season, we will continue to communicate any updates and information via email, the DBPB website, and DBPB facebook page.

Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns regarding this update. We look forward to when we can see all of our players families back out at Stevens Field.

Thank you,

Diamond Bar Pony Board of Directors

President TRUMP has extended the COVID-19 Social Distancing Policy through April 30,2020. Based upon this federal mandate and to protect our players and their families, we recommend that our leagues exercise an abundance of caution and implement a temporary suspension of all league activities until no earlier than Friday, May 1.
We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is a fluid situation and each state has implemented varying degrees of social distancing, quarantine or complete lockdown. We ask for your patience and understanding as these are uncertain times.
PONY (Protect Our Nation's Youth) Baseball and Softball has always made the safety of our players and their families paramount. As information continues to become available regarding the increasing risk of coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to provide you, our players, teams, leagues and volunteers, with additional guidance on the implementation of PONY Baseball and Softball programs in your local communities.

The PONY International Board of Directors and staff feel that it is in the best interest of our volunteers and participant families to delay the implementation of the PONY season. If your league chooses to continue to operate in its local community, then we strongly encourage you to seek the counsel of your state government, community municipalities, parks and recreation, public health departments and local school districts.
At this time, no decision has been made regarding delaying the start of the PONY tournament season, however, it is our hope that our PONY seasons can continue uninterrupted after May 1.

For those leagues that have already begun their seasons, we recommend that you postpone all league activity that may involve the gathering of individuals for games, practices, events, or meetings. If you have not started your season, we kindly ask that you modify your schedule and season plans to start no earlier than Friday, May 1.
Local League participation is our priority. This delay in the start or resumption of the season may necessitate unusual scheduling challenges for our member leagues. We recommend that leagues consider extending their regular season. PONY will waive all late fees associated with 2020 registration. PONY will waive the 12- game minimum for tournament participation in 2020 for those leagues that wish to participate in 2020 tournament competition.

Should PONY determine that the recommended delay of the season will extend past May 1, we will provide timely notification and information regarding the impact of such a delay, including tournament competition.
We are committed to communicating with you on a consistent basis, providing you with additional information and best practices to work through the coronavirus pandemic. We will be thinking of our global PONY community during this difficult time.
